At Buffalo Girlchoir, we strive to make music in a joyful atmosphere.
All ensembles will explore a range of musical styles; ancient to modern, sacred and secular with a particular study of music of women composers.
Junior Division
Prelude Choir
Singers in Kindergarten and First grades. Rehearsal time is Monday 6:00-6:45
Intermezzo Choir
Singers in grades 2-3. Rehearsal time is Monday 5:30-6:45.
Cantabile Choir
Singers in grades 4-6. Rehearsal time is Monday 6:30-7:45.
The focus for this division is healthful tone production, correct vowel formation, developing breath control, and some basic score reading with emphasis on solfege.
Senior Division
Arioso Choir
Singers in grades 6-12. Rehearsal time is Sunday, 6:00-7:15.
Giocoso Choir
Singers in grades 9-12, audition required. Rehearsal time is SUNDAY 7:00-8:30.
The focus of this division is the refinement of good singing skills such as intonation, diction, resonance, blend and sight-reading.
Women’s Choir
Women’s Choir of Buffalo provides an extension of the mission of Buffalo Girlchoir delivering exceptional instruction to high school and college singers through a mentorship model. Apprentices (high school singers) and Interns (college singers) are partnered with an experienced professional in order to gain skills and knowledge leading to excellence in performance of treble repertoire.
