About Buffalo Girlchoir

Buffalo Girlchoir was founded in 2015 with the goal of providing exceptional music instruction in the city of Buffalo to girls from all social strata who love to sing. Our first rehearsal took place on October 19, 2015 with 9 singers. By the end of our inaugural season, we had 24 enrolled singers. We continue to grow and flourish and today have more than 80 singers ages 5-18 in 4 ensembles. We have been invited to sing in community events and alongside professional ensembles such as the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.

Notable Past Performances:

Carmina Burana with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and JoAnn Falletta: Kleinhans Music Hall, May 2018

The Polar Express Holiday Pops with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and John Morris Russell: Kleinhans Music Hall, December 2017

  • All girls deserve to feel the pride in performance that comes with hard work, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence
  • All girls deserve to feel a sense of belonging and acceptance
  • All girls deserve to be treated with respect while being held to a high standard of behavioral and musical excellence

Celebrating Diversity

Buffalo Girlchoir is a choral organization for young women ages 5 and up, offering a nurturing and joyful environment for singers from diverse backgrounds. We empower our choristers to excel as artists and individuals, helping them find their voices.

We value diversity, equity, and inclusion and actively promote these ideals. They are essential for fostering a shared experience and creating a positive and inclusive environment for all young women. We provide opportunities for singers regardless of socioeconomic status and cultivate an open learning environment to benefit our choral community.

Our organization welcomes female identifying and gender non-conforming youth who sing in the treble range.
